Congratulations, you've just had your baby and we are here to support you through the first six weeks of life as a new mum.
We hope you are feeling on cloud nine, you have just done an amazing thing. But we also know that there are so many changes going on in your body as well as getting used to caring for your baby, it can all be quite overwhelming.
The Early Weeks is a library of informative and supportive videos to take you through the first six weeks after the birth of your baby. We hold your hand and guide you with professional advice to aid the best recovery possible as well as open and frank conversations about many of the issues and topics that are sometimes difficult to talk about to others, as a new mum.
What you'll get:
- Self Care - A series of videos with advice on your personal recovery - from bleeding to pain management, sex, constipation and coping with the days where you aren't feeling so good mentally. Charlie talks frankly about the things that aren't often discussed but are so important during your recovery in the early weeks.
- Caesarean Birth - advice and support for recovery.
- Vaginal Birth - advice and support for recovery
- Pelvic Health - Clare Bourne, our pelvic health physiotherapist brings comfort, advice and support for all of the issues you may be experiencing post birth.
- Nutrition Support - At such an important time, Claire Hitchin our registered nutritionist provides much needed information on how best to support your own recovery as well as support breast feeding if this is an option for you.
- Stretching and Mobility - Charlie takes you through a variety of stretch sequences to help you relax, stretch out and readjust as your body adapts post bump.
- Diastasis Recti - what is it and how to diagnose.
The plan is specifically for 0-6 weeks post birth. All stretching and pelvic floor exercises are safe for as soon as you feel ready to participate.
The plan is endorsed by qualified professionals - Clare Bourne, pelvic health physiotherapist accredited to Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) and Pelvic Obstetric Gynaecological Physiotherapists (POGP) and registered nutritionist - Claire Hitchin (mBANT), a certified member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine - the professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners.
